DYW West Highland Seeks New Board Members
Developing the Young Workforce West Highland Regional Group are looking to recruit new Board members and would like to hear from business people, particularly in construction and retail, who feel they can contribute to the next phase of this significant Scottish Government programme, aimed at reducing youth unemployment by directing an executive team to help young people to move from education into employment.
No previous experience of being a Board member is required. The Board is employer led and made up of passionate advocates who want to influence the future careers of school pupils and young people and help better prepare them for the world of work.
- Are you passionate about helping young people find their place in the employment market?
- Do you want to extend your network and enhance your leadership skills?
- Do you want to help the young people of the West Highlands of Scotland become the best that they can be?
If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of these questions, then the West Highland Developing the Young Workforce Board would love to hear from you. Commitment is an average of 20 – 30 hours per year. Most Board meetings take place in the late afternoon and can be attended either in person or by remote dial-in from Lochaber, Skye and Wester Ross (the West Highland’s three constituent areas).
The post offers a rare opportunity to use your experience in industry to help shape the careers of young people and to network with businesspeople from across the region.
